We exist to give ambitious companies — from seed-stage startups to established scale-ups — access to the kind of senior engineering, AI, and consulting work that used to require a full in-house team to attract. No budget tricks, no junior-on-senior billing, no excuses.
The broken agency model — junior teams billed at senior rates, offshore hand-offs, scope creep, and missed deadlines — is the industry norm. We built SwordTechLabs to be the exception that proves it doesn't have to be.
The company is new. The experience behind it is not.
Founder begins career as a software engineer. Early years in enterprise and startup environments — learning what breaks at scale, what survives due diligence, and what becomes unmaintainable when the team doubles.
First lead engineering role. Shipped a real-time data platform for a financial services client and saw first-hand what the difference between good and great architecture means for a business outcome.
Moved into independent consulting for US and Canadian startups. Saw the agency model from the inside — juniors billed at senior rates, offshore hand-offs, accountability gaps at every level.
Built a network of vetted senior engineers through years of independent work. Started forming the principles behind what would become SwordTechLabs: senior-only, honest timelines, full IP ownership.
Founded SwordTechLabs in Newark, Delaware. Same senior-first standard, now with a proper firm behind it. Selective intake by design — quality over volume, always.

This is a firm rule, not an aspiration. Every engineer who touches your codebase has a minimum of 7 years of production experience. We hire slower so you never compromise.
HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2, PCI-DSS — we design for these from the first sprint. Bolting compliance on at the end costs three times as much and passes half as many audits.
We'd rather tell you a project takes 14 weeks than sign a 10-week contract we know we can't honour. Every estimate is signed off by the senior engineer leading the work.
Full IP assignment from contract day one. Documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams are non-negotiable project deliverables — not billable extras at handover.
